Simi Hills, an 18 hole, Par 71, 6651 yard course, owned and operated by the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District, was designed by Ted Robinson, a California native who was known for his golf course architecture. Golfing at Simi Hills is a serene and beautiful experience, with tree-lined fairways, more than fifty bunkers, and water featured on eight of eighteen holes. The practice facilities feature a lighted driving range, a practice putting green, and chipping and bunker practice areas. There is also a Pro Shop and a public restaurant, the Rancho Simi Grill, serving breakfast, lunch and snacks, to refuel. The course was awarded the Reader's Choice Winner by the Ventura County Star, and Golf Digest rated Simi Hills 3.5 out of 5 stars for best places to play in the United States.
Brian Reed, Simi Hills' General Manager, explains the variety of experiences available at the course. The course is designed with four tees available - for golfers who are looking for a challenge and for golfers who are looking to relax. The First Tee operates at Simi Hills and is a program designed for young golfers ages 6 - 17. The six-week summer program's mission is to provide "educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and promote healthy choices." The affordable fees are all-inclusive of coaching rates, balls, and equipment.
Simi Hills also offers clubs for all guest types. Each club has its own tournaments for the members involved. There is a Men's Club, Women's Club, Senior Men's Club, and a Players' Club. Each club aims for a sense of camaraderie: the Senior Men's Club, for men aged 55 and over, plays at Simi Hills two days per month, and the Women's Club has welcomed women of all ages and skill levels since its founding in 1981. The Players' Club offers a special membership for all ages. Its benefits include discounts at the Pro Shop, USGA recognized handicap and a subscription to Fore Magazine.
Simi Hills is an excellent choice for golfers of all ages and skill levels. The course is family-friendly - from its summer classes to Family Golf Hours that are available daily. Guests can come to Simi Hills to enjoy competition, relaxation, or to develop their skills. Regardless of a guest's goal, Simi Hills has the means to make it a reality.
